Have you ever dreamed of having a chat with your role model? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ask your questions to the author of the papers directly? Have you ever wished for a casual meet-up with a senior scientist to ask about life in the lab and beyond?

Please come and register for our Meet the Experts’ Event!

What is the goal of this event?

This no-fee program aims to bring together 5 young scientists and a senior researcher in a casual setting to chat about research, and life in the lab and outside of it.

Where will it take place?

At a café close to the FENS Forum venue. (WU Campus Wien, FINNs Cafe)

When will it take place?

It will be held from 2:30pm to 3:15pm on 26th (Wed), 27th (Thu) and 28th (Fri) of June 2024.

Based on what are the groups/table going to be arranged?

We will ask you a few questions such as your topics of interest and will try our very best to match it to the field of expertise of the expert you will meet. The list of the participating experts will be on our website.

What will the discussion be about?

That is absolutely up to you, it can concern the senior researcher’s work, laboratory work, career perspective, and work-life balance.

How will people be selected?

There will be a lottery system to select among the participants who signed up for this event.  You will receive an email just before the FENS Forum letting you know if you got selected and the time of your meeting.

However, please note that our program can only accommodate a limited number of participants and being an attendant of the FENS Forum 2024 is a strict requirement. Therefore, registration here does not necessarily guarantee a place in the event but you are definitely going to be placed on a waiting list.

We also recommend:

• Visiting our booth for a small surprise.
• Taking part in our Buddy System.
• But most of all be nice, try to help each other and have fun!
